Between subjects design: general class of designs in which different research participants are used in each group. Any given participant receives only one level of the independent variable. Only one score for each participant is used in the analysis of the results. Present different levels of the independent variable to the same group of participants (receive both levels of iv: 2)completely randomize design. Also called simple randomized design/simple random subject design. The assignment of participants is completely randomized between groups. Composed of 2 levels of the iv. If we put 50 members into 25 groups randomly though random number table = change of being in each group. This allows us to infer that the independent variable influenced the dv. Then say group a received high level of iv and group b (zero) Task is to measure dv of each group variable is compared between the two groups. Dependent: randomized design can contain 2 level of iv.
