A systems view of the family requires an understand of the interdependence that exists among. The strategies the family employs in meeting these tasks. Legacy of the family is another factor influencing the strategies established within a particular system. Families tend to repeat patterns of interaction from one generation to another. The family of origin serves as a model or blueprint. If we had good experiences in our f. o. o, we are inclined to repeat them in our own fam. Family themes & images provide members with a set of expectations about how others will act toward them and how they should behave toward others. Some themes have been passed down from earlier generations as part of the fam"s legacy. Themes could be: long-standing traditions or core family values. Kennedy family, deep commitments to social & political, cause it has been happening for 3 generations. Ethnic origins, italians know, they are supposed to have a zest for celebrating, loving, and fighting.
