Power in the us: democracy: political system in which all citizens have equal rights to participate in political life. When we think about power, we usually think about this. Who wins elections, the outcomes of debates in congress, conflicts over. Issues being discussed and debated in dc are obscure to most americans. Republicans tend to be on one side while democrats are on the other. Policies that impact the distribution of wealth and inequality. Especially some of the political changes in the ways taxes are paid that have enabled the super wealthy to take home even more than in other countries. Why is it that policies of the american government do the least of any rich countries to reduce poverty and help families live in a minimally acceptable way: taxes. Us has a high concentration of income and wealth at the top.
