Offenders had long history of criminal offense and deviant acts. Did not limit themselves to one type of crime. Everyone believes that these crimes deserves severe punishment. Consequences are long term and benefits are minimal. No skill or knowledge required to commit them. Did not act as a organized group. Self control theory: pays little attention to seriousness of crimes and not interested in motives of the offenders. Offenders were uneducated and unskilled they did not want to put in the effort to get a higher level education, not because of poverty. Likelihood that person will commit criminal or deviant acts count diff kinds of criminal and deviant acts from the past.
