An educational team is a set of interdependent individuals with unique skills and perspectives who interact directly to achieve their mutual goal of providing students iwth effective educational programs and services. (page 134) Effective service delivery (leading to positive student outcomes) Make decisions about eligibility and implementation of services. Awareness of team membership, roles, and responsibilities. Unique skills & perspectives of team members. Forming - want clear directions, polite, learn about each other, create structures and norms. Storming - resolve issues (procedures, leadership, etc. ), comfortable in communicating with each other, challenge and disagree, agree on course of action. Norming - build trust, establish roles and procedures, establish communication patterns, team culture/identity develops. Performing - primary effort on accomplishing goals. Emphasis on communication - listening and sharing. Time consuming or no common time available.
