Intimiate violence is so underreported: average of 24 people / minute are victims of rape, physical violence, or stalking by an intimate partner in the u. s, girls suffer more from relationship violence emotionally and physically. Stalking -- act of a person who, on more than one occasion, follows, pursues, or harasses another person by actively engaging in a pattern of conduct that causes victims to believe stalker will cause physical harm or mental distress. Sexual assault -- any sexual contact that involves use of force: rape -- penetration of any bodily orifice by a penis or object without consent, about power, domination, humiliation. For men shame and embarrassment might be even greater: cannot afford to leave, no where to go, believe their partner might kill them / hurt or kill children. Incest -- sexual abuse of children by a family member or someone with a kinship role in child"s life: power involved b/c kids are most powerless group in society.
