Evidence of specific gene with specific chromosome thm. Used because they bred quickly, high frequency, only 4 chromosomes. 3 autosome pairs and 1 pair of sex chromosomes. Symbol given for wild traits is a + ex) w+ vs. w. Males = one x chromosome only need one recessive gene to be expressed compared to female who can be carrier and require 2 recessive genes for expression. Males are more likely to receive recessive traits. X chromosome = longer than y, found in males and females.
