3 neighborhoods were developed off of major international events. These developments had major funding from their individual cities. Planning, designing, and building urban neighborhoods can take 10 yrs. Before the the global financial crisis, us was trying collect data of cities that are more eco friendly after building them but they came to a halt due to the crisis. The urgency is back on climate change but it may not last long. Trying to make sustainable communities desirable rather than simply due to the threat climate change has on the world. In each of the 4 neigh designs, integrating it took the city, a planning agency, and political leaders. The city had legal responsibility bc they were the landowners. They used their power to raise funding from various sources. The planning agency worked with the city and had full creative authority over the projects. The groups all had individual goals, and worked together.
