Grandiose: believing in one"s inflated worth, power, knowledge, identity, or special relationship to a deity or famous person persecution: believing oneself (or someone close) is being malevolently treated in some way. Erotomanic: the irrational belief that one is loved by another person, usually of higher status. Somatic: the person feels afflicted by a physical defect or general medical condition. Capgras syndrome: the person believes that someone he or she knows has been replaced by a double. Cotard"s syndrome: the person believes that he is dead. Motivational view of delusions: delusions as an attempt to deal with and relieve anxiety and stress.
