Sociology is the study of groups and their interactions, societies and social interaction, from small and personal groups to really large groups. A society is defined as a group of people who live in a defined geographic location, who interact with each other and who share a common culture. Culture: refers to the groups shared practices, values, and beliefs. Macro-level: look at the accepted rules of conversation in various groups and societies. It encompasses a way of life from routine everyday interactions to the most important group members lives. Sociological imagination: used to study culture; it"s a way of seeing our own and other people"s behavior in relationship to history and social structure. Reification: is an error of treating an abstract concept as though it has a real material existence. The personal decisions an individual makes do not exist in a vacuum.
