Document Summary
Wednesday, september 2, 2015. The far ranging or even global impact of a small change in a specific location, over both time and distance. Efficiency - quickest, least costly means to whatever end is desired. Calculability - quantities: portion sizes, how cheap, but not quality of ingredients, mean it is done in a slipshod manner. Predictability - each fast-food chain is nearly identical from one geographic setting to another. Control - maintained through technology: wright mills - look at phenomena not just from personal perspective but from a sociological stand point as well (view from outside). Being able to use sociology to imagine and predict the future taking from private issues and predicting public issues (declaring bankruptcy to potential bank failures or using facebook to converse then using all types of social media eventually) Micro-macro relationship: small scale phenomena with individuals thoughts and actions to large-scale with groups and cultures.
