Gases: remove afflicted person from the area while avoiding inhaling the gas yourself, if the individual is not breathing, perform hands-only cpr. Burns: immerse in cold water 15 minutes. Biological safety: the discipline that addresses containment and safe handling of microorganisms and biological materials. Basic level of protection and is appropriate for agents that are not known to cause disease. Appropriate for handling moderate-risk agents that cause human disease of varying severity by ingesting or through percutaneous or mucous membrane exposure.
