1. 2 the nature of science: ultimate judge in science is what nature reveals itself based on observations, experiments, etc, science is more of a method of which we attempt to understand nature rather than a body of knowledge. Ex: first astronomers thought earth was the center of the universe and everything revolved around it which was true based on observations of that time. However, now the model has been updated many times because of new observations and experiments. Hypothesis is how the new models or ideas are proposed: new hypothesis can come everyday since there are still new things being found out and never ending controversies. Observational science is often what astronomy is called since it is not conducted in a lab with those kinds of experiments: often make tests by observing many samples of the kind of object and noting how they vary.
