Wagner (2018) discusses how trump overstated the gop (grand old party- another term for republican party) findings. Trump claimed that republican favorability was very high (which is true), but then lied and said this was three points above the democratic favorability (which is untrue). What i want to focus on about this article however, is not trump lying, but the statistics about party favorability discussed by wagner (2018). In theory however, this trend could be contradictory to what we would expect to be seeing if women are voting with the left as some like inglehart and norris (2000) would suggest. Inglehart and norris (2000) found that there is a modern gender gap in post-industrial societies, meaning women are overall voting more liberally/more left.
