A. Visual predation hypothesis

- Suggests that primate visual and grasping abillilties

- Promoted though activity of hunting for insects by sight

- Small size of primates allowed them to use smaller brances of trees

- Heavier compeditors though could not follow

- Move to smaller branches gave abundant food supply

- Insects, leaves, flowers

- Direct access

- Rather than wait for them to fall to ground

B. First Primates
