EDUC267 Lecture 14: EDUC 267 - Lecture 14
Document Summary
How do we meet needs of all students in assessments. The process of communication information between students, parents and teachers about the various aspects of the students" development (nsw board of studies 1998) What considerations do you thin we need to make based on this definition. Types of marking schemes: rubrics, marking guides, task descriptions, checklists, example of a task specific boat design. Different types of marking scales analytical vs holistic rubrics. Analytical: divides the mark with different criteria and applies weightings/percent ages. Also, no one like getting 0s or 10s too scared of the extremes of the scale. Holistic: how the criteria contributes to the quality of the whole is considered, rather than as individual parts. Need to justify that grades align w standards. You won"t run into this problem because 65 is a credit. Come up with your rubric first and move away from it.
