Analytical: divides the mark with different criteria and applies weightings/percentages. Holistic: how the criteria contributes to the quality of the whole is considered, rather than as individual parts. Does the assessment align with the content. Go back to the outcomes when designing the assessment-alignment is key. Do the task instructions align and match with the outcome and the rubric criteria. How will i describe the satisfactory level of performance that i could expect from a student in this task (c descriptor) Vary the percentages allocated to each skill area according to the assessment aims. How do we meet the needs of all students. Consider the diverse needs of the class. Using different teaching strategies then apply different assessment strategies to meet the individual needs. Make sure the assessment is fair and accessible to all. Marking guide should always match the outcome.
