Decentralization: number of bloggers joined forces with traditional media. Blogging: shifted from diary-like to personalized(log on web) to a source of news and current affairs. New media challengers: buzzfeed, vice magazine, huffington post. Ssocial media: rise of social media and its impact on the reporting and dissemination of news. Producers: anybody with access to the appropriate technology can become a journalist. The f-pattern:- refers to the way we read online. Snackable contetnt:- compact pieces of information(snack-size) e. g. tweets, social media post, short articles, etc. An article that takes the form of a list. Buzzfeed, but not the only site to publish a listicle. Contain many features of online writing: writing short paragraphs etc. * personal essay-turned-listicle, e. g. , "nine things i wish i knew before getting married"
