audience engagement

• Prosumer: producer-consumer
• Rethinking spectatorship -> fandoms poaching other's texts and worlds
• Audiences not simply passive consumers
• Fans constantly filling in the gaps
• People react to texts differently -> produce different fan content but all ok in the world

• Yes it has hyperdiegesis but also threatens to burst that logic -> pushes the internal logic
• Rely upon fan knowledge but also upsetting fans
• Have different opinions about what is important in the world
