Effective communication requires understanding (yourself and others), empathy and flexibility. The exchange of thoughts, messages, or information, as by speech, signals, writing, or behaviour. Other cultures = high context cultures, messages are communicated in ways other than words; wide range: gestures, intimation, level of your eyes. Emotional intelligence is the way we manage our interactions with other people to achieve effective results: being able to navigate pitfalls and take advantages of situations. Cultural intelligence is ability to work across differences. There is a lot going on under the surface.
