Adult consumer socialisation: not restricted to just childhood, considered an ongoing process, examples, moving out of home for the first time, moving in with a partner, mother/daughter shopping, retired couples changing living location. Income spent on rent, cars, travel, entertainment: easy to reach through specialist magazines and certain tv shows. Young marrieds: high combined disposable income, but considerable start-up home expenses. Family structure, and needs change over 20-25 year stage. Post-parenthood: empty nest, highest disposable income, retirement provides travel opportunities. Dissolution: tend to follow a more frugal lifestyle. Modification to the flc model: changing lifecycles and family structures have resulted in a more diverse family progression, the traditional flc does not reflect all families; omits single parents, divorce and same-sex relationships. Some researchers have developed modified family life cycle models to reflect these social changes. Divorces: may need new products such as home, phone, furniture etc, may need new services such as real estate, banking etc.
