Organisational change refers to organisation-wide change e. g. mission. Innovation: creating and implementing ideas for new products, new processes, new technologies. People also have to change - new skills, processes, new technologies. People also have to change - new skills, new jobs, become adaptable. They seek success by converting resources into services and products. Three types of resources: physical, monetary and human. For-profit organisations seek to obtain a return on the cost of these resources. Nfp organisations seek an efficient and effective use of them, in order to remain viable. Changes that happen may impact on organisational sustainability. External: political, economic, social, technological, legal, environmental (pestle) Internal: new competitors, new technologies, resources can be depleted, key people leave, customers fall away, partnership alliances may break. Contextual environment: broader, more general environment. (pestle analysis).
