Document Summary
Marsh, c. , clarke, m. , & pittaway, s. (2014). Teachers must decide on what they want students to: Pedagogy can be defined as: the strategies, techniques and approaches that teachers can use to facilitate learning. Conveys the impression of knowing what to do and how to do it. Is sensitive to the needs and feelings of learners. Helps us become conscious of our own feelings. Helps us develop a vocabulary with which to express our feelings. Provides opportunities for us to become selfconfident, focused and independent. Classroom routines (attendance, lunch break, end of day ) To guide us in: decision making processing information critiquing information challenging points of view to assist us to participate actively in a democratic society children and teachers need to be questioners. Purposes for asking questions: to excite or interest to focus attention on a topic to develop children actively in learning to review children"s prior knowledge to direct children"s thinking in a particular way.
