Document Summary
Research processes: search for the information you need, select relevant and reliable information, organise the information, present the information, when we use the term "research" in this subject, however, we use it in the scientific sense. Research is the activity undertaken in a systematic way to discover new facts, or to collate known facts. Evidence-based practice aims to achieve the best possible health outcomes for patients/clients. It does this by integrating information from four sources when making practice-related decisions and choices: research evidence, available resources. The integration and application of this information is collectively called clinical reasoning. 5-step approach: ask an answerable question, acquire the most relevant articles, appraise the quality of the articles, apply the information to a client or population. Practitioners expertise by integrating information from the four sources: assess your own skills in performing steps 1-4. Questions about health and human behaviour are more complex. These types of questions we can call foreground questions.
