Document Summary
Social justice: emphasising social perspective taking and rights of others. Behaviourism is in uenced by the antecedents and consequences that are associated with it. Behaviour change programs should focus on speci c, observable behaviour. In order to alter behaviour patterns in students, it is necessary to gather data via observation and questioning in a systematic way. All behaviour is learnt and can therefore be changed. Behaviour is followed by a consequence that tends to increase that rate of occurrence of that behaviour. To be a positive reinforcer, a consequence must be perceived by the student as good or valuable. Example: marcus completes maths problem> allowed to play a game> increased likelihood of. Acknowledgment (af rmation, written comment, supportive proximity etc) Individual activity (going rst, early mark, leisure reading etc) Group activity (group merit posts, time off, class party etc) Behaviour is followed by withdrawal of an unpleasant consequence with the effect that the given behaviour is likely to increase.
