Document Summary

Tc cells induce immune responses to intracellular infections. Peptides on mhc i are presented to cytotoxic tcr and mhc i interacts with cd8 co-receptor and this activation can initiate the t cell to start making il-2. Il-2 will cause the tc cell to become an effector tc cell. Tc cells release perforin and granzyme to poke holes in target cells. If the fasl on a tc cell interacts with fas on a target cell the target cell will be induced to undergo apoptosis. Autocrine cytokine released from cell affects the same cell. Paracrine cytokine released from cell affects nearby cells. Endocrine cytokine released from cell affects on cells at a distance, in another organ or tissue. Chemokines such as il-8 induce chemotaxis, which will cause the migration of neutrophils towards a concentration gradient. What cytokines are involved in the innate immune response to bacteria vs. viruses? and inflammation as well as recruit neutrophils to the area.
