Legend- emphasis on a single character (eg. jfk) Harry poter: an individual life story (legend) Part of the struggle against voldemort and the death-eaters (saga) Supernatural beings- the gods: cosmology (learning about the heavens, cosmogony (descent of the gods, a type of proto-science , the gods can never be tragic-they never sufer consequences. Hero myth creates a type of proto-history . Logos = uterance which can be potenially supported by other evidence (no proof) One of the oldest of the heroes. His myth is much like a folk-tale. King of argos (acrisius), king of tiryns (proetus) Modern ideas: gustav klimt, bronze age tomb.
