Organizations are formed to bring together a group of individuals for the purposes of accomplishing a goal or goals that none of the individuals would be able to accomplish by themselves. A school is an organization that is formed for the purposes of educating students. (o"hair, mclaughlin, reitzug, 2000) Liberal democracy stresses individual rights and the building of education for self-reliance and autonomy. Social democracy stresses social rights and the building of education for the common good in order to assist those who have least. Participatory democracy stresses civic engagement and the building of grassroots participatory education. Hierarchical authority structures - positions are organized in such a way (typically top-down) so as to establish reporting relations between superiors and subordinates. Division of labour - there is always a division of labour outlining the specific responsibilities for every position in the organization. Rules, regulations, and procedures - there is an extensive and written system of rules, regulations and procedures.
