Indigenous youth are recipients of the pain and trauma residential schools caused their ancestors. Go to school get good education and you can succeed like everyone else regardless of race yet school still only teaches white curriculum. In order to move forward we need to shift social attitudes. Must shift from seeing aboriginal culture as a barrier to building their culture to build strong identities and equality of access. Aboriginal and non aboriginal students need to understand aboriginal worldview so they can effect change for healthy cross cultural relationships.
