Do i know enough to make a decision: define the ethical issues. Is there a precedent in my organization for this situation. What is their interest and what to they want. Have i identified creative options (other than go or no go: evaluate options. Utilitarian: cost and benefits, how likely are the various consequences, which option will produce the most good and do the least harm. Rights: what rights are involved, actions respect human rights, conflict of rights, what are my duties/obligations. Fairness and justice: are various parties being treated and fairly, how are burdens and benefits distributed, are there significant disparities that can be avoided or. Kantian: what if everyone acted this way, how would i feel if i were one of the affected parties, am i respecting people"s rights and am i treating them with respect and dignity. Caring: special considerations, which option if most likely to preserve relationships, make a decision and test it.
