Nation: a community of people whose members are bound together by a sense of solidarity rooted in an historic attachment to a homeland and common culture. Imagined because the members of even the smallest nation will never know their fellow members, meet them or even hear of them, yet in the minds of each lives an image of their communion. State: spatially demarcated political and territorial unit and a set of institutions which controls violence and coercion and determines the rule-making within its territory, thus encouraging cultural homogenization or conformity". Nation- state: a clearly defined cultural group (a nation) occupying a defined territory (a state)- each nation state is on principle, a political territory including all members of one national group.
