Organizaional structures & resources that support health. Breasfeeding in public: if the social norm is against it a mom won"t do it for fear of someone saying something. Behaviour & social environment inluences each others. Health cannot be addressed in isolaion from social, poliical, physical, economical climate. The more women that breasfeed in public the more socially acceptable it becomes and therefore more people will do it. Individual level: a person"s knowledge, aitudes and behaviours. Interpersonal level: beliefs and acions of friends, family, peers. Insituional/organizaional level: policies and pracices of insituions/organizaions the person relates to. Community level: atributes, networks and norms of communiies. Public-policy level: regulaions, policies and laws of communiies. Health promoion: intervenions that are aimed at encouraging individuals and communiies to make healthier choices. Typically involves: educaion, organizaional supports, environmental policies/supports, inancial support. Is based theory of health behaviour change and informed by research evidence.
