The peninsula to the fall of the visigoths. First appeared in the peninsula in c. 1600 bc. Some scholars suggest that their origins are from southern europe. Iberian settlements are found all around the southern coastal strip of spain. Some settlements have even been found in the south of france. This helped them start building towns that were defended with massive walls. They seemed to be a diverse group with no national consciousness. Tribes may have been ruled by kings and had some form of feudal hierarchy. King culchus ruled over 20 towns in andalusia. Iberian warrior were loyal to the death to their leaders. The iberians alter developed systems of writing and produces a 29-symbol alphabet. There is a lot of inscriptions that still have not been deciphered yet. The language appears to have 2 distinct forms of language one in andalusia and one on the mediterranean coast.
