They couldn"t know if she had mental retardation and that was the cause for poor language skills or if critical period passed and that"s why she couldn"t learn it effectively could"ve been neglect as well. Had difficulty with grammatical structure despite vocabulary, she had word order errors and left out functional category words and bound morphemes.
