Though the honeybee waggle dance is a form of communication i do not believe that is can be considered a language. Simply looking at the seven characteristics of language the bee dance does not meet the criteria. Language has many complex patterns and rules to follow, there is structure in human language that is governed by language rules. Reflecting back on the seven characteristics of language it must be communicative, arbitrary, structured, multilayered, productive, evolutionary and multimodal.
