Correlated to language, you cant learn literacy if you don"t have a good language base. Early literacypre literacy skills: learning blocks, without those you wont get to the point of words. Skills you learn before you go to school. Literacy is the ability to read and use written information. It is used to develop knowledge and understanding to achieve personal growth and to function effectively in society. And to write appropriately in a range of contexts. Symbols in our environment (fruit loops) are included in literacy. Have to be able to use literacy in a wide context, understanding that a word. We use literacy a lot more with texting, used widely in a social context.
