Everyone participates in political economy to some degree. Need to recognize gender and broaden how we think of work (paid and unpaid work) Begin to think of gender as an analytical tool. Labour studies also emerged in this time period and many other social movements. Women started to organize in the early 1900. Right to be a full citizen and vote. Movements based on unity and what particular issues were affecting them. What women focused on was dependent on where they were. Focus on anti-violence, anti-war movement, reproductive freedoms and birth control, equality at work and fight for maternity leave that did not exist yet at this time, etc. Fight for these basics that we take for granted now. Always a cluster that was focused on labour issues. Child care, equal pay, end sexual harassment, etc. Strong class dimension and political and economic focus.
