Store glucose (not so obvious) they store muscle glycogen and break into glucose which is secreted into the blood. Origin muscle attachment that is closer to the core end (head) tends to be more proximal. Insertion the bony attachment that attaches to its side bone tends to be more distal. Belly thicker middle region of the muscle.
