He talks about 3 family structures, democratic, hierarchy, and authoritarian. Democratic is preferable, he also suggests it"s not that straightforward. Aristotle: the household and the relationship to the public realm is described as, in the household and family it is hierarchical where the father is the head of the household that regulates rules. Both mother and father have power over the children and slaves in the house. It is also a relationship of care and concern. Hierarchical ranking has the ability to adapt the virtues, not necessarily violence (paternalistic)
