What is deep vs shallow processing
Shallow
- Usually only results in short term retention of the information
- Occurs when you take very little attention to what are you doing
Deep
- Results in long term memory which is meaningful and deeper
- If you want information to stick around
What are study skills and mnemonics ?
The best study skills are those techniques that help you deepen your memory
What is metacognition
- Thinking about your thinking
- Good metacognition consists of having awareness and understanding of one's own
thought process
Reintegration
Basically linking 1 memory to another to another
This causes you to be able to recall an entire memory from a partial cue
