Soci 2p90 sept 21, 2016 lecture 3 (cont. from lecture 2) Consists of many daughters and sons of 2nd wave feminists who grew up with many of the advantages 2nd wave fought for. People think sexism is the thing of the past and that equality exists and that women have nothing to complain about now. Global: global human rights movement > anti-racism, anti-homophobic and anti class privilege efforts, look at womens experiences around the world, liberation >diversity in options availbale for gender identity and sexual relations for all women and men. Term third wave : first used by women of color in the 1970"s in order to include the voices and concerns or non-white middle class women. Adolescent girls and young women: third wave is especially concerned with issues facing adolescent girls and young women, previous feminist theory, written about young women, but not authored by young women.
