CGSC 1001 Lecture Notes - Lecture 10: Omission Bias, Herd Behavior, Confirmation Bias

13 views4 pages

Document Summary

If you know what biases people have and what biases you have, you can reflect when people try to take advantage of you. You believe things because everyone around you believes the same thing. This is why cults try to keep you from talking to people not in the cult. The herd instinct is believing what everyone else does to avoid social conflict. E. g. someone is vegan just because their boyfriend is. Cards all have a number on one side and a letter on the other. The rule is that every card with a vowel on one side must have an even number on the other. You see four cards: 2, f, e, 7. Which cards must you turn over to see if the rule has been followed: all, e, 7, 2, e, f, 7. Why: it doesn"t say what has to be on the other side of an even card.
