Some of the memory end up becoming long-term memories. May stay in memory forever but might have trouble retrieving the memory. Hippocampus appears to the important for transforming short-term memories into long-term memories. Procedural memory: responsible for knowing how to do things, stores information on how to perform certain procedures, such as walking, talking and riding a bike. When you learn, your brain is preparing you for the future. When a response is amplified exposure to a stimulus: ex: at first you can barely feel a vibrating phone in your pocket, but eventually you become very sensitive to it.
