What are the current ideas and theories. Connect them to our literature - connect your questions to it - connect your research ideas to that. You actually have to come up with creative ways to solve your problem. Question must be socially relevant. Code material as you go along. Give yourself time to code and analyse. Time of day, where you were talking to people - have very detailed records of the research you collected. Quantitative - collect data then do research.
