Social networks: networks model relationships in terms of nodes and links. The world wide web: the internet (the network of all computer networks) is an infrastructure for distributing files. Infrastructure that allows us to move documents around: the world wide web is a network of linked documents we access via the internet, what we access when using the internet. Hypertext: a network of connected documents, having a document that is connected to other documents, contains links within it that let you jump to other kinds of documents (example: wikipedia) I just had to take the hypertext idea and connect it to the transmission control protocol and domain name system ideas and ta-da!
