October 20th: historical, policy, and case analysis: used to examine individuals, artefacts, events, or trends, data used to describe and understand a topic by constructing a chronology of events or rich description of a topic in a context. Historical analysis: understand a topic by reconstructing its historical time period and/or by accessing how it has developed or changed through time. Policy analysis: assess the implication of a proposed new policy; focuses on the issues, stakeholders, and relevant context and/or assess the performance of a current or past policy; focuses on development of the policy and its implementation and enforcement. Case study: provide a holistic understanding of contemporary issues by exploring topics within dynamic settings where multiple factors come into play, investigating a phenomenon within its real-life context, rather that theoretical terms or in a laboratory setting. Informants: any living individual who has some sort of direct relationship with the research topic and can provide relevant first-hand knowledge.
