As a result, they tended to put documentaries in the realm of the political by filming dignitaries, queens, kings, emperors, etc. investment, no positive investment, etc. Until: for a long time, the state kept away from cinema. There is a disconnect* between the state and the citizens. Capitalism = the coming to power of bourgeoisie. Can we not try to improve the existing relationship instead? (sensible option: europe was in complete fear during the 20s. The role of the elite: mediating relationships between state and society. Hollywood cannot mend the disconnect due to incompatibility with studio work due to the escapism of hollywood fiction films.
