When we talk about sound, we focus on 5 basic elements: Diegetic any sound (voice, music, sound effects) that originates within the film, meaning the characters in the film can hear it. Non-diegetic any sound (narrator, music, etc. ) that comes from outside the film wall, only the audience can hear that sound. Sometimes there can be a breach between the two of them, for example the sound starts as the non-diegetic then it moves into the scene and the character is listening to it. Synchronous matching between the sound and the image. Non-simultaneous earlier or later than the image appears, for example an explosion is heard by the characters and then it is shown after. Sound perspective sense of a sound that we are aware of its position is space in the film, manipulated through volume, pitch, side of the speaker it is used to manipulate the perception.
