We generally talk about the emergence of post-classical in the 1960"s. In this time, typical hollywood techniques were being questioned. Although this happened mostly in the 60"s, it did happen in lms like rashomon, which was made in the 50"s. It is correct to think of it as something more common after the 60"s, but it is not something that is clear cut in lm history. Godard had a lot of in uence on other lmmakers.
