Grad of poli sci at queens- did freelance journalism a bit in school. Torn between poli sci and journalism- but work together, because he does both in his job. Work depends heavily on journalists- get the word out for feedback on work. The 45,000 people in ward won"t all read web site- journalists get out the word e. g. road closed for construction of bike lanes. Federal politics and provincial politics get most of the attention- we assume they"re more important. Municipal level touches on daily lives more. Waste collection, snow plowing, etc. is definitely municipal. Foreign affairs, immigration, health care- they do have to do with municipal government too, because parts happen municipally e. g. immigration-> ottawa settling syrian refugees. Point- municipal level of government touches on almost everything in some way!
